Dozens of Tesla Cybertrucks Unitted are accumulated in the Michigan Shopping Center car park

Tesla is under the pressure of Michigan authorities after dozens of cyberbarcarulots were discovered in a closed shopping center at Farington Hills, causing concerns about violations of local zoning regulations.

In recent weeks, local residents and social media users have published images and videos showing rows of Cybertrucks aligned at the Hunter’s Shopping Center in Orchard Lake Road.

The site is next to a West Bloomfield Tesla Service Center, causing the installation to use the lot as an overflow site to manage the inventory not sold. Reports estimate that more than 100 vehicles have accumulated in the space.

Tesla employees who collected the trucks told CBS Detroit that the property is owned by the same part that manages the nearby service center and that vehicles were scheduled for customer delivery. However, the city of Farington Hills has had problems with this explanation.

“The office of the application of the Code of the City of Farington Hills has been in communication with the management of the Square’s Square Shopping Center to solve the problem,” CBS Detroit told CBS Detroit.

“They have been notified that vehicle storage is not a permitted use. The application process is being followed and takes time.”

Tesla’s decision to store trucks on the site emphasized the company’s struggles for selling Cybertruck, a general director Elon Musk, once an innovative entrance to the electricity collection market.

According to COX Automotive, Tesla sold just over 6,000 Cybertrucks in the first quarter of 2025, bringing total deliveries to less than 50,000 units since the vehicle’s debut.

Tesla had originally projected annual sales could reach up to 250,000 units.

By 2024, Tesla delivered about 40,000 Cybertrucks, about 10,000 less than expected by Wall Street analysts.

The lag between forecasts and reality has led to a substantial accumulation in the inventory, and Electrek recently reported that the company had a dear of 10,000 cyberdarcis unleashed in hand.

In response, Tesla has reduced the truck production.

The car maker began reassigning workers from the Cybertruck production line to their more successful model Y operation until December 2024, according to employees who spoke to Business Insider.

Tesla sales have also fallen in the midst of the widespread reaction on Musk’s active role as DOGE chief in the Trump administration, which has led to protests and acts of vandalism.

The Tesla brand, once synonymous with avant -garde innovation, has been increasingly polarizing, as the company browses a series of public relations and logistical obstacles.

In December, the company’s actions benefited from a “Trump Cop” following the November 5 election, roaring up to a maximum of $ 480 per action.

However, since then, the shares have been reduced by more than 50%, although it has recovered in recent weeks, as Musk has indicated that he would spend more time running the company.

The situation is further complicated by a series of memories that have affected the CIBERTRUCK since the first time it reached consumers.

Eight routes have been issued so far, with problems ranging from defective wipers to delayed rear camera exhibitions.

The most recent memory affected about 46,000 vehicles, virtually all the cybercruck sold to this point, due to the concern that a stainless steel cut panel could be separated as long as the vehicle is moving.

Tesla representatives were not immediately available for comments.
